God takes responsibility for the destruction of our lands and life. Never intended but one-step from inevitable, the call becomes more pronounced and louder. God ‘able to save but doesn’t’ is tantamount for the why, there’s ruin. And God ‘does’. In the mystery of involved in - yet resisting and fighting the unseen destroyers.
God present and calling, unimaginably active, working for life. But for his ‘hand’ - the world would perish. But came - Christ, and a new order. Earth renewed potential. As it is in...
A route through, a way in. For God and for a future. On earth, as it is...
God is judging us, in and through Christ. The been done and doing. Therefore, we have mercy (‘not what we should justice-get’) and grace, not laws - but for the law of love.
The vision God has is perfection. As and when reality on earth, moves in times and places to ever more hate and war - what else can God do? Knowing, God feels... in part; broken and burdened, over all suffering, particularly - people on people.
Grieving to see turn-around, we read prophets vocalising this heart of love in moving compassion. Their own textures of imagination, with enough ‘of God’ make these prophets words in the book/s, the word, of God. Nowadays we can or could, hear words - from God. To echo this word and transform. Activate, participate, collaborate, counter-stand, battle and break... through.
We are the ways of God. With the word of God.
We should never be self-proclaimed/name ourselves ‘prophets’. We might speak this of another, in being as... prophet-like. Out of Prophets, those who, have lived, Amos-like.
But today, we must, cry-out: Where are his servants the prophets?
In Christ-contact, we’re all to seek these gifts and helps. Abilities to write poetic, communicate with articulate expression, isn’t the heart. It really-Doesn’t-Matter. The only need, is to hear the lion. Cry if a need be. Get on a PC and type. Or, speak it out in conversation. Shout it to the trees, whatever..? It’s not the trees, that hear.
(Personally, I’m sensing the lead for printed matter and the streets/as well - God willing).
Amos would’ve known this shudder in his life. A wild animal of the night, out alone, with a flock of sheep. Once heard - there’s instinctive, gut, motivation - compulsion: Who can but prophesy?
Here’s me trying to sound m’fancy-best in language. It’s my over-flourishing ways but... any-way/that-is/heart-filled for truth, justice and love c-o-u-n-t-s. My sense, (just ‘sense’), is those who’d say they ‘know not the God of Christ’ - are doing most of the prophet-ing today. On the internet.
The words of Amos re-voiced, the typing on this screen, are potentially - prophetic. I’m sure as sure, God is saying, we need others to and more. For telling... is much - or ‘can be’ - about doing and not, ‘talking’. These words, like prayer: Action. Not necessarily, only rational communication. Cold becomes hot, not recognised by our senses or immediate understanding. God speaking, through us, giving voice. This, the way of God, working-purpose-through, bring-ing...
Doesn’t matter - although not the goal - if anyone reads or hears? These symbols and sounds in themselves with the Spirit ‘on’ them - speak into our own God-forsaking ways and the call and hope for better. With or without hearers. This, prayer. And, enemies unseen - addressed and resisted.
Here/Now. Yearning and seeking us - God warns; that we might turn our ways but - the Bible demonstrates - doesn’t override this. At some point, all that remains and redemptive is, the unfolding in the end of ends. A final new beginning. Until this is, decided upon, God is crying out for us, to be, with all heaven - and push, push, push-this - and them, back. For times will come when it will be ‘then’ - but until... we’re Called to Believe and, every, which way, you read the Bible it’s God-reason, we stand for renewal. This onslaught - from those who’ve heard the lion know - isn’t, for now, and us.
Once we hear, we should know. We’ll understand, how ‘we’ let enemies position against the whole world. Christ died for their defeat to be wrought. How can we believe God means for us to fear and faint back? Sit and watch? Read the lion coming in some later-day Biblical theory, suggesting God wants the lion to eat without a fight?
Scrap this world?
We are called in every-Bible-page to stand for and resist such opposition. To open up to God and receive. No ambivalence. Not buts and given-in/up.
For the Good News to go out. We are called. In this generation. In a - not ours to know otherwise, new-last-new, God-wants, awakening. And then, one day - ‘the’ end will come.
Until then, immediately following; When disaster comes to a city, has not the Lord caused it? comes this.
Surely the Sovereign Lord does nothing
without revealing his plan
to his servants the prophets.
The lion has roared –
who will not fear?
The Sovereign Lord has spoken –
who can but prophesy?
God’s plans entwined in, and enabled by, our prophecy and action.
Hear the lion to, who can but...
